Because of the poverty which prevails in Niger, the minors often engage in delinquency and prostitution. This latter practice mainly affects girls. They are often forced to sell their bodies to support their needs. In the majority of cases, they have not used contraceptives, because they are perceived by the Nigerien society as an initiative to the debauchery. the unwanted pregnancies become frequent, thereby increasing the number of female  infanticide.
